"My son Kevin was taking piano lessons at another school for about a year and a half. My wife and I often wondered if he was really getting anything out of the classes. His progress was very slow and we were getting very little feedback from his teacher. Frustrated, we decided to switch to the Academy of Music. Within no time, we noticed a dramatic improvement. He's moving through his lesson books nicely and he he even played a few songs at home this past Christmas. We are very pleased with the Academy and the quality of the instructors. His primary teacher is Heather and she is excellent. When substitute teachers are necessary, we have found them to be equally excellent."

"Before joining the Academy of Music family, I had looked at various options for our then 6 year old son who wanted to drum. When I spoke to Melody and then the instructor, it was clear from the very start that the Academy was the best choice without doubt. They welcomed a young student without reservation and knew how to challenge him at appropriate levels for his age and talent.

Three years later we are even more thrilled with our choice. Ben, now 8, has been encouraged and challenged to be the best percussionist he can be. There is always good communication between us and the instructor (Peter). Besides the regular lessons, Ben has been given the opportunity to participate in bands and ensembles and perform in these groups and solo. These are opportunities we would have missed if he had lessons with a private instructor who was not part of a school. And these experiences are an invaluable part of his enjoyment and musical education.

The Academy of Music offers much more than lessons -- it is a community of musical education where I have found students are trained to play an instrument but even more trained and encouraged to become musicians. We love coming here every week and look forward to our younger children joining the student list in the years to come."
