Art Gallery at the Academy is an onsite gallery located in Academy of Music on Main Street's state-of-the-art facility in Spotswood, NJ. The art gallery was conceived by Melody Blasenheim, Academy of Music on Main Street's owner and director, as a way of supporting local artists and taking advantage of the many 12 foot high walls in the facility. "People are excited about this gallery. It's a place where people can purchase high-quality art at much lower cost than commercial art galleries. In the setting of the music academy, people's experience of what the art has to offer is deepened. Music and art go together."
The Art Gallery at the Academy presents four shows annually, each ten to eleven weeks in duration. The gallery's main display space is in the main waiting area in the front of the building, consisting of one unobstructed 31' x 12' wall and an adjoining 4 1/2' wall at the far end of the waiting area.
Please visit us and enjoy the art on display. All artwork on display is available for purchase.

Harvey Rogosin, a native New Yorker, has resided in East Brunswick, New Jersey for the past 23 years. As a self taught artist, he began experimenting with oil painting in his teenage years, producing both colorful landscapes and contemporary abstract art. He studied Architecture at New York Institute of Technology. The responsibilities of a husband, father and working architect temporarily suspended his studio practice. Once he resumed his desire to paint, pastel was the medium he most preferred due to its workability and wonderful array of colors.
Rogosin paints in his home studio mostly using original digital photographs. He is an avid cyclist, where on his rides he takes photographs and then turns it into that special piece of art. Landscape is his favorite subject. Kevan Lunney, curator of the gallery, says, “His landscapes hover between realism and impressionism. His colors are true. The work gives you the feeling of satisfaction as though you just experienced the scene yourself and this is your recent memory. Most of his subjects are familiar and comforting.”
